Dr. Alex Kuritzky
MD, FRCPC
Dr. Alex Kuritzky is a medical and cosmetic dermatologist and a Clinical Instructor with the Department of Dermatology and Skin Science, UBC. In her practice, Dr. Kuritzky is motivated by the transformations she witnesses in her patients and is honored to be part of their journey to skin health and self-confidence.
Dr. Kuritzy’s special areas of interest include acne and rosacea, pigmented lesions, cosmetic injectable treatments, laser and light-based treatments and photoprotection. She is a member of the Sun Awareness Working Group of the Canadian Dermatology Association. After finishing her medical degree at the University of Toronto, Dr. Kuritzky completed her residency in dermatology at the University of Ottawa. She then returned home to Vancouver’s North Shore and practiced for several years at a leading Vancouver-based dermatology practice before starting DERM Lab with WELL Health and her colleagues here.
Dr. Kuritzky has published on a range of topics in dermatology, speaks regularly at conferences, and has appeared on local television as a skin expert. She is engaged in teaching dermatology residents and medical students at the University of British Columbia.
When not at DERM Lab, Dr. Kuritzky enjoys being active outdoors with her family (in sun protective clothing, of course!): skiing, paddle boarding, gardening and raising chickens. Her young sons think that it’s perfectly normal to swim with a hat on and understand that you do need sunscreen on rainy days. She loves to travel and is fluent in English and French.
